Sh2-85 is a minor emission nebula at the southern edge of Lyra. The nebula has been ionized by the light of a central 7th magnitude B-type star, and registered in the Sharpless catalogue with a size of 6 arc minutes. However, we can hardly recognize the entire shape because of its extraordinary low brightness. This image shows you the nebula stretches eastward from the central star and a comparatively large but dimmed gaseous region distributes in the northern part. The distance has been estimated as 1300 light years.
