Two small diffused nebulae lined up in Puppis near the border with Canis Major. They are located about 11 degrees east of Sirius, and a major open cluster M47 in Pupis can be found at 1.6 degrees northeast of these nebulae. The nebula on the upper right of the image is Sh2-299 with a size of about an arc minute, and another on the lower left is Sh2-300 with an apparent diameter of 3 arc minutes. The separation angle between them is about 10 minutes. Both have low surface brightness; it is difficult to recognize their shape without long exposure. Red Hα and blueish reflection components are recognized inside Sh2-299.
