NGC973 is a small-scaled edge-on galaxy lying at the eastern part of Triangulum. The galaxy is a very indistinct deep-sky object with a long axis and a brightness of about 4 arc minutes and 13th magnitude, respectively. The distance has been estimated about 200 million light years. As you can see in this image, a small galaxy of IC1815 can be found at only 5 arc minutes south of NGC973.
