This image captures a pair of edge-on galaxies aligned with a separation of only 5 arcminutes, located roughly 2 degrees west of λ Pegasi in the western part of Pegasus.
The galaxy on the right is the lenticular galaxy NGC7332, while the one on the left is the barred spiral galaxy NGC7339, with major-axis diameters of about 4 and 3 arcminutes, respectively.
Lying at distances of approximately 40-47 million light-years, the two galaxies are strongly interacting and are thought to be orbiting one another.
