NGC6822 is a dimmed irregular galaxy at northeast edge of Sagittarius, called "The Barnard's Galaxy" from a name of discoverer.
The galaxy has a long axis of about 15 arc minutes, one of dwarfs belonging to the Local Group.
We can detect the galaxy as an indistinct lump of light under conditioned skies through telescopes.
In addition, this image shows you that the galaxy has two dimmed gaseous compositions (MCG2-50-2 & MCG2-50-3) at 8 arc minutes northwest (upper right hand side) from the center.
The galaxy is positioned at approx. 1.6 millions light-years away, closer than the Andromeda galaxy M31, a major member of the Local Group.
