NGC4494 is a bright elliptic galaxy positioned at a degree west of a famous edge-on galaxy of NGC4565 in the constellation of Coma Berenices. Although the galaxy has an apparent diameter of a bit smaller than 5 arc minutes that makes easy to observe with the telescope-aided eyes, has no noteworthy features. The galaxy is forming a small-scaled galaxy group with NGC4565.
