NGC300 is a medium scaled spiral galaxy positioned in southern Sculptor. Although we cannot find bright guide stars around here, can trace about 5 degrees northeast from alpha Phe.
We can observe the galaxy as only lump of light through telescopes, but this image has captured indistinct structures of wound arms. The galaxy has a long axis of larger than 20 arc minutes, classified in larger member galaxies belonged to the Sculptor Group. The distance has been estimated about 7 millions light years away.
