In western region of Ursa Major, a small galaxy lying in just the mouth of Big Bear is NGC2685. The galaxy has a long axis of 5 arc minutes and a visual brightness of 11th magnitude, showing us as an edge-on galaxy facing its side. Large telescopes have captured several gaseous rings surrounding its bulge, given nicknames of "Helix Galaxy" or "Polar Ring Galaxy". This image shows you a dimmed gaseous matters in outskirts of the galaxy.
