NGC2438 is a bright and conspicuous planetary nebula bathed in an open cluster of M46 in Puppis. The nebula has a diameter of about an arc minute, showing greenish and reddish colors in center and shell respectively. We are seeing remnant gas of a dead star positioned front of M46. Although the nebula and M46 have no relation each other, you can appreciate the tiny nebula impressively surrounded with fine stars configuring the cluster.
