NGC 1954 is a small spiral galaxy located approximately 3.7 degrees north of α Leporis. It has a brightness of 12.4th magnitude and an elongated diameter of just over 4 arc minutes. The galaxy exhibits a distinctive shape for a spiral galaxy with two outer arms surrounding the entire galaxy. A small galaxy visible about 10 arc minutes to the NNW is IC 2132.
