NGC1792 is a medium-sized spiral galaxy located on the western outskirts of Columba, near the border with Caelum. Found approximately 5.8 degrees southwest of ε Columbae, its low altitude during transit makes it challenging to capture detailed structures at Japan. However, it exhibits an underdeveloped central bulge with an elongated diameter of just over 5 arc minutes. The galaxy forms a small galaxy group with others like NGC 1808, situated immediately to the northeast. The estimated distance is approximately 36 million light years.
