NGC1407 is a small elliptical galaxy at 4 degrees NNE from tau-5 Eri, central region of the constellation. The galaxy has an apparent diameter of 4.5 degrees and a visual brightness of 10th magnitude. NGC1407 is a member of Eridanus Galaxy Cluster, and forming a small-scaled galaxy group with small galaxies distributed around this field. A small elliptical galaxy in lower right hand side has a number of NGC1400.
