NGC1187 is a spiral galaxy positioned about 40 arc minutes north from tau-3 Eri. The galaxy has a long axis of 5 arc minutes or so and a brightness of 11th magnitude. The galaxy has been classified in bared galaxy, we can recognize well-proportioned two arms in this image.
