This star field image shows you a rendezvous of Mars with the Lagoon Nebula (M8) in Sagittarius. At that time both noticeable objects had about 2 degrees apart. In 2001, the Mars approach the Earth with a background constellation of Scorpius and Sagittarius. We could enjoy the Mars having rendezvous with several celestial objects bathed in the Milky Way in summer skies.
