From the year-end of 2002 to beginning of 2003, we could appreciate a rare sky event of the rendez-vous of the Crab Nebula and Saturn.
The day when this image captured showed us the Saturn about 40 arc minutes east of Crab Nebula, and both objects falled on perfectly on January 5, 2003. The brightness of Saturn is some thousands times brighter than that of Crab Nebula, the Saturn has perfectly been saturated. But the naked eye through telescope permitted me to see both objects simultaneously with beauty. And The Saturn will close to Crab Nebula again in April 2003. Back to Previous page |
