IC 1276 is a small and sparse globular cluster located in the almost central part of the constellation Serpens Cauda. To locate it, one can follow a path about 4 degrees northeast from the neighboring star νOph. The cluster has an apparent diameter of 8 arc minutes and a brightness of 10th magnitude, and is classified as Class XII, the sparsest concentration index of globular clusters. Its estimated distance is 17,600 light years.
