This image shows you a vast but extraordinary faint dwarf galaxy lying at 5 degrees west of xi Dra at the head of Draco. This is one of companion galaxies of our Galaxy, floating at only 260 thousand light years away. Although the galaxy has an apparent span of over 30 arc minutes, amateur telescopes are needed a long-exposed photographing to detect the vague figure somehow.
It is considered that the Draco Dwarf includes the most massive dark matter in all known galaxies. Astronomical attention has been paid on this dwarf elliptical galaxy.
