This is a faint dwarf elliptical galaxy located nearly in the center of Andromeda, positioned 3.5 degrees south of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31). It was discovered in 1970 and is one of M31's companion galaxies. With a long diameter of about 4 arc minutes and a brightness of 13th magnitude, it is extremely faint and not visible to the telescope-aided naked eye. The distance from the Milky Way is approximately 2.4 million light-years, and its distance from M31 is estimated to be within 150,000 light-years.
This image has been cropped with an equivalent focal length of 700mm.
