NGC2549 at the lower left-hand side has a spindle appearance with a length of a bit longer than 4 arc minutes in north-south direction, is floating at about 48 million light years away. At about 40 arc minutes WNW of NGC2549, a galaxy cluster Abell 634 is lying. The cluster contains about 40 galaxies in a span of 28 arc minutes.
