This impressive Milky Way image was captured with a fish-eye super wide lens. The Galaxy in which we're living has a diameter of about 100 thousand light years and it's considered that we're positioned at 28 thousand light years away from the center of the Galaxy. I can feel a gigantic cubic effect by taking such a Milky Way image with various landscape on the Earth.

This picture was adopted in Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) as a title of "Heaven on Earth" on Nov 6, 2000.
