This page shows you an HDR composite image of the total lunar eclipse of Sep 7 to the early morning of Sep 8, 2025, which was composited according to the lunar position corresponding to each time based on the Earth's umbra. The moon moves from lower right to upper left on the screen, showing the motion of the moon over a period of about 3 hours relative to the Earth's umbra indicated by the dashed circle. In this total lunar eclipse, you can see that the Moon passed south of the Earth's shadow toward the northeast direction.
