This image shows you the comet Tempel-Tuttle, known as the parent comet of Leonids meteor shower, on evening of Jan 31, 1998. The comet positioned between Andromeda and Triangulum. I could detect the coma like a lump of light with a 4"-binocular. The brightness could be estimated as 8th magnitude.
