This image is a composite of meteor photographs taken on the night before the peak of the Perseid meteor shower in 2023. Despite unfavorable weather conditions on the following peak day, a meteor shower was observed at a rate of approximately 2 to 3 meteors per minute on that night.
The brightest meteor seen parallel to the Milky Way in the upper left corner of the image is a -2nd magnitude bolide that appeared around 24:50. A faint meteor train was detected for about 3 minutes.
