The comet Lulin in that day could be detected in southern evening skies, in Gemini, with a coma brightness of 6th magnitude. I could appreciate it with a portable binocular easily. The comet has no ionized tails but has a dust tail in east direction with a length of about 40 arc minutes. You can see an open cluster of NGC2420 in left hand side of the second image.
