Location: Koumi town, Nagano pref.

Camera Settings: Recording format...14bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(5184×3456)
Sensitivity...ISO1600



This image has captured the comet Jacques passed the perihelion and moved to the northeastern dawn skies. In that night the comet has positioned just south of IC405, a major emission nebula in the Auriga's pentagon. The comet has a coma with 6th magnitude in brightness and a thin and long ion tail stretched in west direction reached out of this field of view.
  The image has been cropped with an equivalent f=1200mm. (View angle: 1.06×0.71°)
