Location: Ooizumi, Hokuto city, Yamanashi pref.

Camera Settings: Recording format...14bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(5184×3456)
Sensitivity...ISO3200



This page shows you the comet Jacques 9 days later of its discovery. The comet has been positioned at a border between Hydra and Centaurus, has a coma with its brightness of about 10th or 11th magnitude. At that time the comet had a lower meridian altitude in southern skies. The image can detect that the comet has a short tail in northeast direction.
  The image has been cropped with an equivalent f=2000mm. (View angle: 0.63×0.42°)
