The comet Holmes in that day with an apparent diameter almost same as that of the Moon has been positioned just east of alpha Per. The comet has a visual brightness of about 3.0 or 3.5th magnitude, almost same when I observed on Nov 11. The coma has almost no ionized gas, only detectable white dust composition looks like a jerry fish.
