This page shows you the comet Hartlay2 at almost its closest position to Earth, the comet can be observed at northern Perseus with 5th magnitude in brightness. The comet had a coma with diameter of over 30 arc minutes, can hardly be detected with naked eyes because the coma has been widely distributed. These images catch a short dust tail in southwest direction. In that day the comet has been positioned about 5 degrees south of reddish nebulae of IC1805 and IC1848 in Cassiopeia.
