This image shows comet 2025A6 Lemmon captured under the bright moonlight of a waning gibbous Moon (lunar age 18). The comet was located low in the northeastern sky, about 14 degrees south of β Ursae Majoris, one of the stars forming the Big Dipper. Based on comparison with nearby stars, the coma's brightness was estimated to be 6th magnitude. Although the moonlight obscured fine structural details, both the dust and ion tails can be seen extending northwestward in overlapping directions.
The image is cropped to an effective focal length of 700 mm.
