The comet 2017O1 ASASSN in that day has positioned around 4 degrees east of the California nebula in Perseus with a coma brightness of 8th magnitude, detected a short tail stretched in southwest direction. The comet has already its maximum brightness, and moves northward from now on. We will observe the comet in higher midnight skies under good conditions in Oct 2017.
