Composed 4 shots with 5 minutes exposed
Optical: Meade 25cm(10") Schmidt-Cassegrain with conversion lens (f=1600mm, F6.3)
Auto-guided with Meade LX200 Equatorial & Pictor 201XT
Digital Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S2 Pro
Location: Ooizumi, Hokuto city, Yamanashi pref.

Camera Settings: Recording Format...12bit CCD-RAW, converted to 16bit TIFF(3024×2016)
CCD Sensitivity...ISO1600, White Balance...Auto



This image shows you the comet 2005A1 LINEAR only a week later from its discovery. The comet is positioned in tail of Hydra, has a coma with a brightness of only 13th magnitude. But you can detect a dimmed blue greenish head and a short tail in northwest direction with a length of 3 arc minutes or so. The comet will be brightened from this time on but move to southern hemisphere. It will be impossible to observe the comet on and after this Feb.
