On this day, comet Pons-Brooks was positioned in the western evening sky, approximately 1.2 degrees southeast of Vega in the constellation Lyra. The faint, spherical coma had an apparent diameter of about 5 arc minutes, and its overall brightness ranged from 8th to 9th magnitude. Unfortunately, due to conditions with thin clouds, ion components, as observed in images taken last month, could not be confirmed. Towards the northeast, there appears to be an extremely short tail-like structure.
View angle: 0.70×0.70°
