This page shows a spectrogram of the NGC7009 (Saturn nebula) and an intensity profile provided from it. The nebula has several emission lines especially in shorter wavelength region. The profile has plotted intensities in logarithmic scale because individual emission lines have large strength ratios.
The nebula has "normal" lines of the Balmer series of hydrogen atoms from H-alpha to H-epsilon, and ionized oxygen atoms of two O III's, in addition has lines of ionized nitrogen (N II), sulfur (S II and S III), neutral and ionized helium (He I and He II), and ionized neon (Ne III).
