It is a small peculiar galaxy located in the eastern part of Aquarius. Its apparent diameter is just under 5 arc minutes, and its brightness is about 11th magnitude.
Although it is classified as a spiral galaxy, no distinct arm structure is observed.
In this image, it is very unclear, but there is a loop-like structure on the outermost eastern side, extending toward the north.
Two massive black holes have been confirmed in the central part of this galaxy, and it is believed that two spiral galaxies are in the process of colliding and merging into one.
The small galaxy seen about 12 arc minutes west of NGC 7727 is NGC 7724.
