A compact reflection nebula of IC1985 lies just south of omicron Persei, western neighbored star of zeta Per glittering at left hand edge of this picture. IC1985 has an apparent diameter of about 10 arc minutes; this field is about midway between the California nebula and the Pleiades. And a compact open cluster of IC348 can be seen at same position of the nebula. And this image includes an extraordinary faint reddish diffused nebula and a vast dark nebulosities in south of the nebula and cluster. It's considered that these faint gaseous clouds are single lump floating in the inner-galactic space; IC1985 and so on are emitting white light by reflecting the light of neighbored stars.
