This page shows you the time changes of the "Diamond Ring" for approximate 25 seconds appeared just before the second contact and right after the third contact of the total solar eclipse on Aug 21, 2017. The images have displayed by turning the celestial north direction upward. The dazzling light is from the solar photosphere, and you can detect the reddish molding light in vicinity. The light is the chromosphere that surrounds the solar surface; especially you can see that three comparatively larger-scaled prominences are stretched from the western chromosphere.
