This picture shows you the eastern sky immediately after the sunset. It can be detected that just upper part of the horizon has a color of blue-black. This phenomenon called "The Earth Shadow", the shadow of atmosphere including vapor. The Earth Shadow becomes higher as time goes on, and covered by the night sky above us.
