On this day, comet 2021 S3 PanSTARRS was located in the northeastern sky before dawn within the Milky Way, about 5.5 degrees northeast of β Cygni (Albireo) in the constellation of Cygnus. The comet, past its peak brightness, exhibited a slightly dimmer coma of around 10th magnitude, along with a tail extending towards the west. Due to numerous faint stars in the vicinity, the extent of the tail appeared somewhat indistinct.
